eleanor: four months!

weight
we have her 4 month check up tomorrow, but i weighed her today on my super accurate bathroom scale way of doing things... looks like shes just around 13 pounds. maybe.

yup. i like to eat.

health
she had another bout of thrush and occasionally gets some formula boogers, but still doing great overall! (knock on wood, since hen now has a cough and cold and im super paranoid shes gonna get it too! lots of hand washing/hand sanitizer up in here)

clothes
she still fits in most of the size 3 items we have (onesies are getting a bit snug), but is able to wear 3-6 months and some 6 months items as well. unreal (i never thought we would grow into size 3 and now im almost having to put them all away!)

sleep
lucky for us, she is just like henry (going forward were not entirely sure thats a great thing since hes up at 530am basically every day!). we moved her into the crib on december 30th because she was close to rolling over and we worried she would suffocate herself in the bassinet if she did. so off to the crib she went, we crossed our fingers, and shes been there ever since. most of her naps are in there too, sometimes still napping in the rock and play when we are downstairs (the pack and play is downstairs too and henry used to nap in there all the time, but she has barely napped in there at all). bedtime routine starts about 645pm and she wakes up about 7am. there are nights when she fusses at around 11pm or 3am, but if you give her pacifier back to her she falls asleep again (we dont typically need to feed her at that time). naps arent too structured, but for the most part she will wake up in the morning, eat and play a little, and act tired and go back down for about 2 hours around 830am. then another 2 hour or so nap around noon time, and maybe an hour and a half to 3 hour nap in the afternoon (henry also takes about a 2 hour nap if hes given the opportunity... what can i say, our kids love to sleep!). eat, sleep, play, poop, repeat! rough life.

crying
i dont remember the last time she cried. honestly.

milestones
she is so close to rolling over its almost hard to watch the struggle! i think henry rolled over the day after his 3 month date... so shes a bit behind. catch up little girl! her head/neck is super strong and she is able to really control herself sitting up with us holding on to her. she sits well in her bumbo seat, jumper, and now her high chair! theres recently been lots of babble and also some laughing. she grabs and can hold onto toys. i love this stage.

do we really think this is safe guys?

when does the sushi arrive?

roll over? nah.

baby gear love
still loving the piano... she spends a lot of time on there moving around and still enjoying looking at herself in the mirror. the bumbo is nice for when we are all in the kitchen or playing games at the island. i also found this nice cover for the car seat when its cold and we need to head out somewhere.

so... is someone bringing me my snacks?

what the shit is this?

skeptical

outings
other than the trips to hannaford and target we tend to stay pretty house bound since its so cold. but she was able to get out and meet some more of our friends at a birthday party for henrys friend, oliver.

diapers
we finally used up the last of the size 1 diapers we had... and i feel like shes almost growing right out of the size 2s! i just bought a few boxes too, so i might need to take one back and get a 3 instead (the target size 2 diapers are oddly much bigger/better fitting than huggies). sadly i didnt touch the cloth diapers and im pretty sure she isnt going to fit into the ones we have left. life goes on.

diet
this kid loves to eat! around 3 months i just couldnt keep up with her anymore and we started some formula, a small amount at first to make sure that she could take it ok (she did). i had a ton of milk saved up in the freezer so we started slow with the formula so she wouldnt get too constipated. we were then also able to transition from similac to target brand (pro advanced) without any issues (thanks kid!). going back to work i quickly dropped from about 22oz of milk production a day to about 10, and soon after it dropped again. i can barely get 2 to 4oz now (and even thats probably a stretch) and it just wasnt worth it for me (the challenge of it was both mentally and physically exhausting). i was able to feed her much longer than henry, but each time it has given me different struggles. im still able to breastfeed her in the morning and before bed, but that may be ending soon as well. tears have been shed multiple times. there are many parts of parenting they dont tell you in books. this is one of them. also, hormones.

likes
reading books, seeing whoever comes to get her from naps and when she wakes up in the morning, "miss kitty", looking at herself in the mirror

dislikes
theres not much she doesnt like... mainly just being hungry and not getting fed fast enough.

go pats!

happy 4 months little bug!
