eleanor: eight months!

weight/height
likely bigger than last months post (super accurate). this post is already (very) late and shes in bed and im not gonna go wake her up to weigh her and measure her. i think she has a doctors appointment coming up so ill update on the 9 month post (which will likely be closer to 10 months at the rate im going here)

health
healthy healthy. loves pretending she has some sort of funny cough but its all a huge show. and she will mimic you if you cough by coughing back.

clothes
basically skipping 9 months and is straight into 12 month clothes. i cant even.

sleep
still a great sleeper at night, might be transitioning sometime soon from three naps to two. her morning nap is pretty solid (wakes up from sleep, eats, plays, goes back to bed), but that middle of the day nap is almost impossible so we sometimes just keep her up and let her take a mid afternoon nap. i forget how much sleep they need, and when she sleeps she sleeps well. but shes getting more nosy and has huge fear of missing out. she doesnt know what shes missing skipping these naps!

crying
still very little crying. some nights she wakes up in the middle of the night screaming but a small bottle helps and she falls back asleep.

milestones
ive been trying to get her to say "mama" but instead her first word was "papa" a few weeks ago (actually sounds like "ah-pa"). she is sitting up on her own, feeding herself puffs and trying to hold her own bottle. she seems to have zero interest to crawl and just rolls over and over to get around. she can now move both forward and backwards in her walker, and is reaching up for you when you pick her up.

baby gear love
she has grown to love the bob stroller (wont scream when we put her in it, thankfully). we have gone on a few short runs (i forgot how tough running with that is, especially with all of these hills here!). she really enjoys being outside now that the weather is nice and loves her swing on the playset. her bathtub is still a favorite (and hopefully soon the pool!), the jumper seat, piano and high chair (just wish it was a little taller).

outings
we went to illinois to see all of my family last month. it was a wonderful trip but as always wasnt enough time. ellie did great on the plane (although she didnt sleep as much as we thought she would). there was a stroller mix up in baltimore which was frustrating... we were all tired (she had barely slept), ty and i didnt get to eat... but she and henry were both such troopers. we were all awake until almost midnight that night but we all slept well and powered through it. ellie had been recently having a bit of stranger danger and getting upset whenever anyone held her that wasnt mom or dad, but she did great while we were there and everyone loved her (obviously). the weather was beautiful on easter sunday and she was able to play outside and swing for the first time, which she really seemed to enjoy.

diapers
size 4 (target brand) all the time

diet
new foods we tried this month: green beans, pineapple, chicken, spinach, zucchini, strawberries, apricot, turkey, and an apple/avocado mix (sounds gross, she loved it). i think she is slowly transitioning off of the bottle (basically will only take a bottle if she is sitting up in her activity center or high chair) and only drinks about an ounce or two at a time. but then some days she will down 4oz (especially if we give her the bottle first). i ordered some sippy cups so we will see if she likes those. she is beginning to like puffs slightly more than the first time we tried. (henry has found that he loves them again and keeps stealing them from her high chair when she has some). we have also been giving her some chunks of sweet potato and banana to start with some solids.

likes
eating. baths. being outside. anything that her brother is involved in.

dislikes
truly cannot think of anything she doesnt like. except the booger sucker. she sees that thing coming a mile away and covers her nose right up haha.

eleanor: seven months!

weight/height
who knows, haha. the last time she was weighed was in march and she was almost 16lbs and maybe 23ish inches. i also dont know when she goes back to the doctor... 9 months i think? ill put her on the scale here at some point. shes a chunker for sure but shes still pretty petite (and smaller than henry was at this age for sure)

health
all good, knock on wood #nomeaslesplease had a little sinus infection which led to having blocked tear ducts. didnt look good but didnt seem to bother her much.

clothes
basically 9-12 months, although closer to 12 months than 9. her head is quite large and she has mommys long torso. definitely 9 month pants (big belly/short legs). i just went through her closet and there were still 3-6 month stuff hanging up (most of which she never even wore... oops)

sleep
great night sleeper. marginally good day napper.

crying
still really only cries when shes hungry and we havent fed her enough (which isnt often) and a little bit due to some more teeth coming in. still overall a very very happy baby.

milestones
sitting up on her own (still a tiny bit wobbly... if you dont have a pillow behind her she will eventually fall to the side). reaching up when you go to pick her up, tons of babbles.

baby gear love
still loving her bouncer and activity center. still on the fence about the bob stroller, but the car seat attached stroller works ok.

outings
ellie went on her first plane ride to illinois and met all of mommys family! (technically the meeting of the family was after the 7 month mark, so those pics will be saved until next month). also got to spend time outside (all the new sights and smells!) and go in a pool for the first time, which of course she loved.

diapers
still in size 3 but definitely gonna start wearing size 4 soon (at least at night).

diet
new foods now include: pineapple and chicken! this kid loves to eat for sure. (still on the fence about peas)

likes
everything. seriously, happiest baby ever. and definitely baths. and her brother. and her dog.

dislikes
not a lot. peas. going to bed hungry.

maybe someday ill be a boston marathoner like my mommy

why does my mom do this to me?

whhhhhyyyyy???
