til death do us part (?)

two conversations with the husband that occurred the other night, almost one right after the other (maybe he is learning?)

conversation 1:
me: so, do you think that after we have our first child you will say that day was the best day of your life or our wedding day was the best day of your life?

husband: well, the pats winning the superbowl was actually pretty sweet.

conversation 2:
husband: why did you make an apple butter pumpkin pie?

me: cuz im the best wife ever. im sure you will like it. but if it actually tastes horrible what are you gonna do about it?

husband: eat it for breakfast tomorrow too.

according to our vows, i have to love him. right?

challenge update

remember back in may when i had this huge marathon goal and told everyone i was going to kick my current marathon PR in the a$$?

yeah. i dont know that its gonna happen. life really kicked ME in the ass this summer. it happens. and im a stronger person for it, but not so much a faster person. and im alright with that.

BUT, there is still a challenge going on. remember THIS? and THIS?
oh its still on. (but im pretty much already planning what sort of maine goodie basket will be sent to so-dak, haha).

jeri's current 2011 race times:
5k- 23:09
10k- 49:27
1/2- 1:50:57
full- 4:25:09

my current 2011 race times:
5k- 24:48
10k- 51:06
1/2- 1:52:18
full- TBD

so for me to win this challenge as it stands right now, i need 4:20:29 for the marathon next sunday. however, jeri is still planning on racing another 5k, 10k, AND half. ugh. im still hoping to finish the marathon by some point on tuesday.

i do have a couple 5k's and a potential half i could do, but we'll see. i gotta get myself through the next 4 weeks before i even think about racing anything else....

65 roses 5k satellite run!

i am SO EXCITED to announce that it was approved this morning to allow for "satellite" runners for this years 2nd annual 65 Roses 5k run to benefit Cystic Fibrosis (many thanks go out to Sam!). this race in general means a lot to me, as it is for a cause very near and dear to my heart. after hearing about the passing of my brother-in-law, Aaron, the race director asked if it was ok to dedicate this years race to Aaron. obviously i said OF COURSE!! what a great honor... i wish that more people in this world could have had the opportunity to meet Aaron, but all who did were touched in very profound ways.

please consider registering for this 5k run and running it in your own town. gather up a few friends, run on a treadmill, take a 3.1 mile walk through the mall... its for a GREAT cause and would be a great honor for me and my family to have you participate with us. ive been a part of many great virtual races and an AWESOME satellite run (oh yeah, doin it again this year too http://ojmarathon.com/)... i dont have any prizes for you all, goodie bags wont be sent out, but for a $20 donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation you can help support awareness and the search for a cure.
