eleanor: ten months!

(the mostly type A in me is super annoyed that a) i didnt do all of the monthly pics either in the pink chair or the green blanket, not both, and b) that the lighting in the pink chair is different and the pictures dont all look the same. ugh. also, i again apologize that this blog post is likely awful/rushed and coming out just 8 days shy of her 11 month post... which likely wont be posted on time either!)

weight/height
shes growing. thats about all i know here. she has a long torso and chunky (strong) legs, and everyone that sees her thinks shes long/tall. her head seems to have grown into her body though and doesnt look so huge anymore.

40 weeks in...

40 weeks out!

health
all good still in this department!

clothes
she is mainly wearing 12 month plus. baby clothes drives me insane... we have 6 month pants in one brand that are bigger than 12 months of another brand, we have some clothes of the same brand where the sizes are so weird (two shirts that are both 12 months are totally different sizes), she has 18 month pajamas that are almost too small... i need to do a complete overhaul soon, weve gotten tons of clothes from some of my friends and clearly we still have things in the closet that are too small (and yet i still attempt to put her into it). oops.

yeah these dont fit anymore

sleep
shes occasionally fighting going to bed now, complete fear of missing out for sure. but some days she goes right down (around 7pm) and she will sleep until about 630am. she is still rocking two naps for the most part. doesnt like sleeping anywhere but her own crib, which is a bit of a problem. unlike henry was, if she is super tired and wont nap you can put her in the car and start driving and she is asleep within minutes. the problem then becomes you are driving around aimlessly while she naps. oh well.

oh hey guys. no sleeps for me right now thanks.

see this is way more fun than sleeping!

you guys think i would miss wheel of fortune?!

crying
just screams when she doesnt want to be put down for bed or if someone she doesnt know (well) tries to hold her or gets too close. a little stranger danger isnt a bad thing. but overall a very happy child, as im sure you can tell.

milestones
this was the month of doing all the things! she crawls, she is starting to pull herself up (but doesnt stay up), she now has 5 teeth (bottom 3, top 2), says mama, is clapping... its such a fun age!

baby gear love
i feel like were kinda in between baby gear now... the little baby stuff is basically getting packed up (well its in the office on the floor) because shes growing out of it, and the stuff for when she starts to walk hasnt come out yet. she isnt entertained by the stationary seats any more yet you also cant just leave her on the blanket with toys (she ends up coming to see what you are doing in the kitchen or the bathroom). the thing i am loving the most (which kinda does have to do with her... in a way) is the new deebot vacuum we got on amazon prime day haha. it helps get up all the dog hair so now that she is roaming all around she doesnt end up eating it all! (gross). but seriously its so great. comes with a remote control, but you can also use your phone, watch, and alexa to control it. ridiculous. welcome to 2019. if only the baby gates that we bought were as easy... trying to put those together on a 95 degree day ended up with me swearing and throwing it all back in the box and threatening to return them.

outings
we traveled down to new hampshire to see grandpa speckman for lunch and she enjoyed sitting in her big girl restaurant chair to be eating with everyone. we spent a lot of time in the pool (our little backyard one as well as our friends pool since july was the hottest month ever). we spent an eventful camping trip at the maine forest yurts (seriously you all need to go there!)... ellie wasnt a huge fan but to be fair it was so hot and humid (duke didnt care for it either. ellie and i spent a lot of time in the car so she could cool down, henry enjoyed the pond. mom and dad enjoyed some drinks). we went up to the lake with brayden and aileen, and had picnics at the park. lots of fun outings!

diapers
starting to use size 5, still fits into 4.

diet
trying all sorts of new things now. she loves scrambled eggs or hard boiled eggs, yogurt and avocado for breakfast. cucumber, melon/watermelon, sweet potatoes. all the puffs. still loves her "ba's" (bottles), pureed chicken/turkey, greens and i caved and got the pureed mac and cheese. it smells ok but i didnt try it (she loves it).

still unsure about watermelon
likes
i truly cant think of anything she doesnt like. oh wait thats a lie... diaper changes. but she still loves her baths (we still have her in her pink tub... i say "we" like there are others who give her baths (oh wait, grandma does!)... its been what, 300 days we have had her and dad has yet to give her a bath. i think hes afraid, which is understandable... especially now that she loves shoving her face right down into the water and drinking the soapy water. oof.

dislikes
its almost a danger to herself (and others) when were trying to change her diaper. she arches her back, swings her body to flip over onto her belly, has almost gone off the changing table head first and off the back... its ridiculous. and changing her on the floor she tries to crawl away. its just a ridiculous scene.

adventures in feeding herself (which always ends in the bath, which she loves)

happy 10 months little bug!
