weight
3 month weight check in showed she had gained almost a pound and a half... 10lbs 12oz!
health
a few boogers here and there and lots of sneezes (just like her daddy and brother she will never sneeze just once... i think i counted 8 one time!), but overall perfectly healthy. hope to keep it that way!
clothes
fitting nicely into 3 month clothes now (with a few still too big)
sleep
i know i will jinx myself by saying this, but both of my children have been great sleepers (for the most part) since they were born. although henry rarely sleeps past 5:30am, they both go to sleep relatively early at night and sleep well throughout. there have been a few nights recently when E will wake up around 430 or 5am and want to eat a little bit, but then she will go back to bed (she usually has a wet diaper at that time which may be why she wakes up and then she just figures why not eat since im already up... takes after her mommy there). otherwise she will go to bed around 7pm and sleep 10-11 hours. her naps vary throughout the day, a few short ones and one long one. she is almost outgrowing her bassinet (shes about to roll over and tends to almost sleep on her side crunched up on the edge of the bassinet) and we moved that into her bedroom this week. crib soon to come! (i need to figure out what to do with all of her stuffies!)
crying
very rare. even when she is hungry she just chews on her hand. but she will let you know if you arent coming to get her when she wakes up or arent quick enough getting food to her face.
milestones
she can sit up pretty well in the bumbo seat (with some padding behind her). her head has been very strong basically since she was born. we almost got the high chair out last night but the house is filled with enough christmas stuff i think we will wait a little while longer. (side note: how is she already big enough to start using a high chair?! slow down!!) she is so so so close to rolling over, and looking back at henry's 3 month blog it seems they both loved to roll to their left and then get stuck. it will happen soon im sure. she is very good at getting herself all turned around on her play mat though.
were still waiting for her to laugh which also should be coming shortly. she smiles and opens her mouth really wide when you are trying to make her laugh but no sound comes out (but she is very verbal with babble now in general). its so cute. she grabs for fingers and toys when put close to her hands, and will swat at some of her rattle toys hanging above her in her chair and car seat. she is also some weird houdini magician and can somehow get out of her pants while she is sleeping. this has happened quite a few times now, quite a wiggle worm apparently!
we give her time on the piano play mat still... i dont think shes as into it as henry was, but she still likes to look at herself in the mirror hanging above her, as well as moving around in circles on the mat and trying to roll over. i recently put her in the swing that my neighbors gave us and she seemed to not hate it anymore. some of her naps are still taken in the rock n play. and we introduced the bumbo which i love and she doesnt hate, so thats a win.
outings
E is a great traveler, which makes life easier. the usual- dunkin donuts, hannaford and target. we also went to my cousin Katie's baby shower and many trips to skowhegan (and we finally have a car that will fit all of us when we go! during the month of november and while i was on maternity leave we were having to take both the truck and the car in order to take both kids, the dog and all of our stuff. we finally made the move to get a car big enough for everyone!)
diapers
still in size 1. i had semi good intentions to finally start using cloth diapers and when i went to put them on her (our smallest size) they didnt fit. oops. so maybe ill start again soon with the next size (dont ask why i didnt just try them that day. its baby steps with my overall mental health on these decisions and it was a battle i decided not to fight on that day. i know it makes no sense to anyone other than me since i was ready to start with the smaller size).
its no wonder this little one grew so much in one month... she eats like a champ! 5 to 6oz bottles in one sitting and then a half hour later is shoving her fist in her mouth again and will eat another 1 to 2 oz (then passsssss out!) she is no longer exclusively breastmilk fed, i just couldnt keep up. im still pumping about 18-22oz a day for her and breastfeeding her here and there (im typically off schedule with her by about 2 hours so its hard, plus shes still hungry after i feed her so its just easier to pump and give her a ready made bottle). ive just started trying to eliminate the middle of the night pump so i can get more of a stretch of sleep which is nice.
likes
everything! she is still such a happy baby. she really enjoys spending time with his grandma and papa, nee and dee, and is super interested in everything her brother does (and especially loves when he reads to her). she really enjoys bath time too.
dislikes
when you take her food away from her so that she can burp. also seems to tolerate yet will likely one day roll her eyes at all the silly emoji pics henry and i do with her haha.
its so hard to believe she is already 3 months old and we are going to be celebrating her first christmas!! it is so amazing to watch her grow and learn. we all love you so much Eleanor Lynne!
