life changing moments

i first want to thank everyone for the really sweet messages left on my last post. the decision had been a long time coming and is just one of the many things that is allowing me to feel like im not drowning. i know that when i toe the line at mile 13.1 instead of mile 0 along the MDI course next month ill feel a bit of regret and sadness, but i will be back there again. ive said it before and ill say it a million trillion times... im blessed that i can run. so i will keep running...

buuuuut in other news, one year ago today...
...our lives were forever changed...

(and thank God for google... i took the blue test first and didnt know if it was negative or positive. winner. and then i had to take another one just to make sure). the doctors appointment three weeks later confirmed what we hoped was true...

i still find it odd that my maiden name is on this pic

it felt like it was forever from that initial test, all the ultrasounds and doctors appointments (and not to mention how many times i had to pee in a cup!) to the delivery date... and despite it feeling like an eternity, all of a sudden he was here in our arms. and he was (is) amazing.
he is by far the absolute best thing to ever happen to me (us). ever.

  2. Hah! Me too! I was all "wow, way to knock 'em out!" Then I actually remembered how to read.... Very excited to see you in a few weeks. We are going to rock that half marathon in the FACE! Also, running a half means that we can eat all the ice cream and drink some beers the night before. Well, it does for me anyway :-)

    1. I did think you were a little nutso when I read it quickly. But different strokes... Anyway, no, I'm not doing MDI. When is it anyway? I think I have field hockey or the Maine 1/2 or something like that. Well, since you aren't doing anything on 10/6 why don't you take one of my friend's bibs who can't run and help me finish in under 2 hours? Since it's practically in your backyard and all. :)

  5. I am SO very happy that you'll be at MDI. I want all of us awesome people to meet up. (Well, I'm kind of a poser...but whatev's) I am so excited but the thought of all those hills scares the hell out of me. I will probably be at a bad mental place here and there. Blech. Hopefully the scenery will help to keep me going though.

Henry is so beautiful. You have been blessed with an amazing baby. Treasure every single moment with that sweet face.
